HSI Mare Inspections 2012 entries close 15 February 2012

All Irish Draught mares have to be inspected from two years of age.
This year the mare inspections will follow the new format as set down by HSI.

Horse Sport Ireland (HSI) hold inspections of eligible mares for classification in the Irish Draught Studbook each year. These inspections of mares of 2 years old or older offer owners an evaluation of their breeding stock with the conformation and movement described using Linear Scoring, giving a detailed description of their mare’s conformational strengths and weaknesses, invaluable when making future breeding decisions. A veterinary examination will be carried out on the mares.
Selected mares will be eligible to receive additional merits. These merits will assist mare owners with demonstrating the added value of their mare when selling them or their progeny.

*Please note that these venues & dates are dependent on sufficient entries and as such are provisional and may be subject to change.
